About this product

An acrylic Google review sign for the wall, the door or beside the till. Your customer taps it with their phone and your Google review form opens.

It sticks on with the adhesive on the back, so it takes no counter space and stays where every customer passes. Phones without NFC scan the QR code instead.

More reviews or your money back.

A Google review plaque in acrylic

The sign is a 10 x 10 cm (3.9 x 3.9 in) square of acrylic, printed on the front, with an NFC chip and a QR code. Whether you call it a Google plaque or a Google review sign, it does one job: it opens your Google review form.

Where to put it

At eye level, where people pay or leave: beside the till, on the door frame, on the reception wall of a salon or clinic or by the exit of a restaurant.

Your link, on your sign

You write your Google review link onto the chip once, with the free Smartap app. The tap goes straight to Google with no subscription in between, so the sign keeps working even if you stop using Smartap. Your QR code runs through the free Smartap dashboard, where you can repoint it and count scans without reprinting.

Set it up in three steps

  1. Find your Google review link. Our guide shows where it sits in your Business Profile.
  2. Open the free Smartap app, paste the link and hold your phone to the chip.
  3. Stick it up where customers pay or leave. Test it once with your own phone first.

Sign, stand or card?

A sign suits a wall or a door where there is no counter to spare. If customers pay at a counter, a Google review stand sits right by the card machine. Staff who serve customers one to one can hand over a Google review NFC card, and anyone working on site can carry a Google review keychain.

The same sign for every customer

Google asks businesses not to choose who they ask and not to pressure anyone. A sign on the wall, there for every customer, does neither.

Common questions

Which phones work with it?

Any phone with NFC switched on, including every iPhone from the XS and XR on and most Android phones. Phones without NFC can scan the QR code with the camera. To check a model, see our NFC phone list.

Does my customer need an app?

No. Their phone opens your Google review page in the browser. Only you use the free Smartap app, once, to write your link onto the chip.

Is there a subscription?

No, you pay once. Your link lives on the chip itself, so there is nothing to renew, and the tap keeps working even if you stop using Smartap.

Can I change the link later?

Yes. Open the Smartap app, paste the new link and hold your phone to the chip. The QR code is changed from your free Smartap dashboard, without reprinting.

Am I allowed to ask customers for Google reviews?

Yes. Google lets businesses ask for reviews as long as you ask every customer, offer nothing in return and don't pressure anyone. Handing over a card or pointing to a stand fits all three.
