Questions

Which phones work with it?

Any phone with NFC switched on, including every iPhone from the XS and XR on and most Android phones. Phones without NFC can scan the QR code with the camera. To check a model, see our NFC phone list.

Does my customer need an app?

No. Their phone opens your Google review page in the browser. Only you use the free Smartap app, once, to write your link onto the chip.

Is there a subscription?

No, you pay once. Your link lives on the chip itself, so there is nothing to renew, and the tap keeps working even if you stop using Smartap.

Can I change the link later?

Yes. Open the Smartap app, paste the new link and hold your phone to the chip. The QR code is changed from your free Smartap dashboard, without reprinting.

Am I allowed to ask customers for Google reviews?

Yes. Google lets businesses ask for reviews as long as you ask every customer, offer nothing in return and don't pressure anyone. Handing over a card or pointing to a stand fits all three.
