Set up in two parts

Each takes a few minutes, and you only do it once.

  1. Get your review link

The link that opens your review form. Pick your platform.

  2. Put it on your Smartap

The chip and the QR code are set up separately.

Common questions

Setting up, and once customers start tapping.

All questions
What do I do when my cards arrive?

Set up the two parts once each. Write your review link to the chip with the free Smartap app, then scan the QR code and add the same link in your dashboard. Start with Activate your Smartap.

Can I change the link on my Smartap?

Yes, as often as you like, and nothing needs reprinting. Rewrite the chip with the free Smartap app, and change the QR code's link in your dashboard.

Does my business need to be listed on Google?

Yes. To collect Google reviews you need a Google Business Profile, and the same goes for our Tripadvisor and Trustpilot products.

Do my customers need a Google account?

Yes, Google asks reviewers to sign in. Most smartphone users already are, through Gmail, YouTube or Google Maps.

How does the tap work?

Smartap uses NFC, the same contactless technology as paying with your phone. The chip only shares your link. It collects no data from your customers.

Does the card need power or a signal?

No. The chip has no battery and never needs charging. To open your review page, your customer's phone needs a data connection, the same as for any website.

A phone does not react to the card. What now?

On an iPhone 7, 8 or X, open Control Center and tap NFC Tag Reader first; newer iPhones read the card on their own. On Android, turn on NFC in Settings under Connections. Any phone can scan the QR code instead. More in Troubleshooting.

The card opens my Google page, not the review form.

The card holds your business page link rather than your review link. Follow Find your Google review link, then write the right link to the chip with the Smartap app and update the QR code in your dashboard.
